The First All-Electric Shunting Locomotive Powered by LFP Battery

In November 2023, Zhuzhou, China, witnessed the production of the country's first all-electric shunting locomotive. Powered solely by a high-capacity LiFePO4 battery, it has a maximum traction power of 1,500 kW.

Equipped with a 1200kWh liquid-cooled fast-charging battery system from EVE Battery, it can travel 128 km on a full charge and haul 1,200 tons of freight.

The locomotive's green and low carbon benefits result in an estimated annual reduction of 150 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per unit, equivalent to planting 8,200 trees. This technological innovation is in line with the future of green land transportation and energy saving goals.
